Revelation 5 (April 20)

4 Then I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and read it. 5 But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, “Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne,t has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

This is amazing. John knew the importance of the scroll. I don't remember at this point what the scroll contained, but it seems like John knew that it revealed life and salvation. He wept because no one could open the scroll...This is interesting in and of itself...The awesome part is that one of the 24 elders told him to stop weeping. He then revealed the gospel to John! Jesus has won the victory!! He is WORTHY to open up the scroll and its seven seals. This reminds me of "The Sword in the Stone"....how only one person had the ability to take it because it rightly belonged to Him...there was a purpose. Only one being can take away the sins of the world and that is Jesus Christ our Lord!

  1. 6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits[a] of God sent out into all the earth.

I don't know what this means. But it was cool to read this because Jozefov were discussing this same verse earlier today and how alot of these things in Revelation can either be seen from a metaphorical viewpoint, for what i do not know completely. But the number 7 comes into play quite frequently. Anyway the reason this sticks out to me is even though we may not understand everything we read we are assured in the fact the we put our trust and faith in Jesus and that is all that truly matters.

  2. Borsch I am so glad you on this!!!

5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll hand to loose its seven seals.”

Oh ya, this is the Gospel. Without Christ we are lost in the wildness weeping and mashing our teeth. Then Christ shows us and say stop all that shenanogenz I am the way, truth and the light. I really don't know what the scroll symbolizes I have to read some commentaries of Revelation as a whole. But Christ is the only one in Heaven and Earth and Hell that can open it(besides God? they are the same thing, ok). Also every time I look into the path of David to Christ it blows my mind just like all of the other professes that are fulfilled with Christ.
