Hebrews 8

Hebrews 8:10 NLT
But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
-------------
I love this because it shows how Gods law is written on our hearts! And I feel like it is.important to know that this is a sign that we are Gods people. When we are Gods people...the law is written on our hearts and we therefore act like Gods people....all of our actions honor God because it is His word that shows us how to live a life worthy of the call. Also...what a blessing it is to know that we fall under the law of grace and not the law of the first covenant!

  1. 8 But God found fault with the people and said[b]:

“The days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
    with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
9 It will not be like the covenant
    I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them,
    declares the Lord.

I find this very symbolic of the way we aproach our relationship with Christ. God has to make a new covenant because the ancestor fell away from Faith. Just the same way when we fall away from our faith in Christ we there should be a completely new relationship almost. The old one is obsolete, all that matters is the new relationship with Christ. I think that makes sense.

  2. 12 For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.

HOW AWESOME is it to know someone, lets pretend He wasnt even GOD, in GENERAL, SOMEONE that would just forgive you and NEVER REMEMBER your transgressions against them EVER?!!!
GOD IS SOO AWESOME, that He washes us CLEAN And WHOLE..
This verse clearly tells us, we can NEVER EVER out-sin Gods Love and forgiveness. Its impossible to beat God. He Always wins, even when you think youre not worthy, He STILL is glorified in making US whole, and throwing our sins into the sea of forgetfulness.. Praise God for His AWESOME and FORGIVING nature.

  3. 11 "No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord' because they will all know me from the least of them to the greatest"

How amazing will it be when the day comes to where we do not have to tell people about the gospel because everyone knows it. How awesome is it to think about everyone on earth believing in Jesus as their savior. This is an seemingly unattainable goal that we should strive for because God has called us to do this. Though we cannot reach everyone with the word of God, we must try to reach as many as possible to inch closer to this goal.

  4. 6 "But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises."

Here, Paul continues his discussion of Christ as our high priest in a new order of priesthood. Like the last chapter, Paul expounds upon the necessity of Christ as a brokerer of a new covenant and as our representative of for that covenant up in Heaven with God. And on top of that, Christ's covenant/ministry is far superior to the old way, demonstrating the necessity of His coming and God's love for us in the implementation of the new covenant.

  5. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second.

How gracious is our God? That He not only established one covenant, but when we failed that one, He then established a new one, a better one. God has always kept His word and when we failed the covenant He then took the penalty for failure upon Himself so that those who submit to Christ might enter into His rest. The new covenant is based on Christ interceeding on our behalf, it has nothing to do with our ability to fulfill the law, but on Christ's fulfillment of that law. Praise be to God!

  6. They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.”

The old testament Law and Ritual were meant to be an image of the heavenly world. Just as marriage, or fatherhood are images of God's relationship with man, so was the tabernacle, and the old high priesthood and image of the Heavens and the High Priesthood of Jesus.
