This is an amazing verse! We need to live by this, especially when we are living for Christ and suffering for doing the work of the Lord! HE will carry us through every circumstance! What an amazing thing to know! This also is a great way to wrap up this book, as he is encouraging his brothers and sisters during a time of persecution. I love it.
v. 6-7 "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."
ReplyDeleteTwo of the biggest things in our daily lives comes out to me in this verse: a humble heart before God and an active spirit of prayer. Simply reminding ourselves of who God is and who we are should humble us to our proper state of relying on His grace. In light of this realization, those four last words are simply incredible! 'He cares for you.' Understanding this, I know that I can assuredly cast all my burdens on my Father knowing that he is all powerful and treasures and looks out for me.
7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
ReplyDeleteGod is SO much bigger than any of the trouble we face on earth. I just had a huge reminder of that. I was about to go study for my test tomorrow then i remembered that i had yet to read the bible today, and i am hit by this verse. I am still going to study, for a while, but this test does have any real implications on my life. God is just so much bigger than any of my problems i face.
10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
ReplyDeleteThis is the hope that we have. We hope in God's victory, therefore, no matter the circumstances we can experience the joy of Christ. God is a God of immense grace and as such He will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish each of us. We must realize that God is in complete control, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and that God has a purpose for the suffering we are currently enduring.
10 "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."
ReplyDeleteGod is our strength. When we are down and fighting the battles of our lives and we have no strength to go on, God is our power when we have none. He carries us in our time of need and lends His strength to us. It is when you feel you are alone and powerless when God is by your side and carries your burden, though most of the time we do not even realize it. That is the power of our God.
