A Chapter a Day...

Seriously, reading a chapter of the Word of God a day will change your life! Please join me in this challenge as we start off with the book of Ephesians and move on from there.

Challenge 1: Read one chapter each day and pick the one verse that spoke to you the most...blog it and write why it stood out to you.

Revelation 10 (April 25)

7 When the seventh angel blows his trumpet, God’s mysterious plan will be fulfilled. It will happen just as he announced it to his servants the prophets.”

Alright, honestly...this is just getting crazy. Eating a scroll? Why does it turn sour in his stomach? Anyway, I chose this verse here because it says that God's mysterious plan will be fulfilled. What is that? It says that it was revealed tot he prophets. I wonder if that is Jesus. I'm not exactly sure what this chapter means. But it is good to know that we serve a loving God...one who is just...therefore, we should not fear what His mysterious plan is...rather we should hope for it and live for Him while we wait for it to be revealed!

  1. v. 9 - So I went to the angel and told him to give me the little scroll. And he said to me, "Take and eat it; it will makke your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey."

The Gospel (and God's Word) can sometimes be bitter-sweet to those who hear it, but we need to share it with all who will hear it, for it is the most important thing they will ever hear. No matter how bitter the reality of sin and death may be to them, we must trust that the sweetness of Jesus will also be a savory taste to his/her soul. This is especially important to me in thinking about particular people who I need to share with and how I am afraid that I may lose their friendship by sharing...
